Objectives
HIGA has a clear objective: to enable young speakers of minoritized languages to become agents of change within their linguistic communities and on a global level. Through academic training, practical actions, and experience sharing, HIGA aims to support youth activism in language revitalization.
🔶 To offer practical training on language activism and revitalization
HIGA provides participants with practical training in linguistic activism and techniques and strategies for language revitalization. Through interactive workshops, participants learn specific tools that they can apply in their linguistic communities to protect and revitalize their languages.
🔶 To foster participation and creative solutions
Promoting active participation and the collaborative spirit of young people is fundamental for HIGA. Creative solutions are encouraged to address the challenges faced by linguistic minorities, providing participants with the skills they need to become innovative leaders in their linguistic communities.
🔶 To increase awareness in critical sociolinguistics
HIGA's objective is to achieve greater awareness in critical sociolinguistics, meaning to provide participants with a deep understanding of the social, political, and cultural factors affecting minority languages. In this way, participants will be able to apply a critical and active approach in defending their languages.
🔶 To facilitate the creation of projects and cooperation networks at the international level
HIGA facilitates the creation of shared projects among participants from different linguistic communities. Additionally, one of the key foundations will be the construction of international cooperation networks, which will enable participants to maintain long-term dialogue and cooperation, spreading the impact of the initiatives they launched after the event.
